Making the decision to become a Certified Livestock and Equipment Appraiser was easy for me, deciding to become an ASAA member was as well. I wanted to work with an organization where the President of the association was active within the organization. Jay Proost of the American Society of Agricultural Appraisers is top notch, best of the best in my book. I established my appraisal business in 1988. I had great success right out of the gate because of my association with the American Society of Agricultural Appraisers. It did not take any time at all for me to become widely respected by banks and other businesses that needed appraisals. I soon learned that being qualified and not just opinionated is the secret ingredient to success as a Certified Appraiser. Thank you ASAA for the help and support that you have given me through the years. My advice to those interested in the appraisal business is go for it; it has great rewards.
